With St. Patrick’s Day approaching, you may find yourself wishing that a big pot of gold would appear, courtesy of some benevolent Leprechaun. While I certainly hope that happens for you, I actually believe that we create our own luck. If you talk to people who describe themselves as “lucky” they may not be able to tell you why they feel lucky, but here is one characteristic that all lucky people have. They have a positive attitude.

Think about what an attitude is. It is the energy with which you approach something, and it is what you choose to focus on in any given situation. Positive Energy is the key to being lucky, and here is the good news. You can learn to create a positive attitude; because that is something you create inside of you. You can always decide what to focus your attention on.

It may help to spend a few minutes thinking about what you want that pot of gold for. What do you think that money will bring you? For most of us, it is a sense of comfort and freedom, and believe it or not, that is an emotional state or attitude that you can actually create inside of you. A positive attitude is an internal sense that things should work out for you, and a belief that you deserve to have what you want. It may surprise you to know that working hard is not the key component to achieving the monetary success you may be striving for. It actually has far more to do with your belief system and how worthy you feel of receiving what you want. Most of us have been taught that success comes from a lot of hard work and struggle, and we have to “earn” what we receive. Lucky people tend to believe that they deserve good things to happen, and they seem to effortlessly attract them. So how do they do that?

Everything in the universe is made of some form of creative and magnetic energy. If you want to create more financial success in your life, you have to learn to think in terms of energy and learn how to use the creative and magnetic power that is stored in what you think and feel. You may remember in grade school science, putting something under a microscope and when you focused the lens, you magnified the image. The same thing happens to whatever you focus your attention on, it gets magnified and grows bigger! If you want to have The Luck of the Irish, you have to train yourself to look for what you want to see, and most of us do the opposite. You can learn how to create a positive attitude but it is like anything else, the more your practice the better you get.

Here is the secret to creating a positive attitude. You have to practice feeling grateful. Then, you will start to create your own luck and you won’t need a Leprechaun to help!
